Celebrating Cumbria’s Skills Fairs

Last week, colleagues from Cumbria LEP and The Cumbria Careers Hub attended two Careers Fairs; the Furness College Careers Fair and the Carlisle Skills Fair hosted by John Stevenson MP.

Skills fairs have become a cornerstone in the professional development landscape, providing a platform for individuals to connect with industry experts and explore diverse career opportunities. These events play a crucial role in bridging the gap between education and employment.

Naomi Morgan, Skills Bootcamp Programme Manager said: “Skills Fairs provide fantastic networking opportunities where participants have the chance to interact with representatives from various industries, establish meaningful connections and gain insights into the current job market.

“These events are an excellent platform for individuals to explore a wide range of industries. Whether you are a young person thinking about a future career or apprenticeship or someone looking for a new career, these are fantastic events showcasing local Skills opportunities in Cumbria.”
