LEP Structure

Cumbria LEP is committed to a culture of openness and transparency. It follows government good practice guidelines in relation to how it operates.

We are keen to work with a wide range of partners to help us deliver our Vision of Cumbria as "the place to live, work, visit and invest sustainably - where exceptional industry and innovation meets a breathtakingly beautiful and productive landscape".

CLEP implements a Governance structure that aims to be inclusive, action-focused, aligned to Cumbria’s strategic priorities and operating to the highest standards of accountability and propriety.

The structure aligns with and supports the Local Industrial Strategy, with five Strategy Groups addressing the five foundations of productivity: Ideas and Innovation, Transport and Infrastructure, Business, Places, and People, Employment and Skills.

Together, these Strategy Groups form the vehicle for delivering actions to address overarching issues which are relevant to various sectors within Cumbria.

Alongside the Strategy Groups sit nine Sector Panels, which focus on addressing the twin platforms of productivity and inclusive growth within key sectors for Cumbria. The panels are action-focused and from inception have worked to develop plans that identify opportunities for the sector whilst addressing key challenges.

CLEP also retains an Investment Panel responsible for overseeing and developing the pipeline of investment opportunities.

CLEP also retains the Kingmoor Park Enterprise Zone (EZ) Delivery Board to ensure that the opportunities presented by the EZ are maximised for Carlisle and Cumbria.

If you would like to find out more about how CLEP operates, or explore how you might help us with our work, please contact us.

Opportunities to apply for positions on our strategy groups and sector panels will be advertised on the CLEP website news page as and when they become available.
