Ignite Young Minds – Host a Dream Placement

Are you a business in Cumbria with a passion for inspiring the next generation? Consider participating in a Dream Placement, a unique programme managed by the Centre for Leadership Performance.

Dream Placement provides the opportunity for ambitious 16–18 year olds to connect with local companies, granting them a firsthand glimpse into the breadth of opportunities right here in Cumbria.

Why should you get involved?
By hosting a Dream Placement, you'll have the chance to exhibit your organisation to motivated young individuals. This not only enhances your HR attraction and recruitment strategies but also elevates your brand, furthers team development, and opens doors to valuable networking opportunities.

The programme complements your existing work experience initiatives, it presents a competitive selection process for students, distinguishing itself from traditional work experience, fosters the development of essential work-ready attitudes and behaviours. We will provide guidance to help you identify the ideal student candidate and structure their placement week effectively.

Student Ebony McClarey from Barrow Sixth Form College thoroughly enjoyed her weeklong Dream Placement at the office of the Barrow and Furness Conservative MP Simon Fell.

It was really good being in an office environment and learning what they do and seeing the case work and the future plans for Barrow.

Simon Fell fed back to us that “Eboni had great ideas, and the project work that she completed about engaging with young people more about the levelling up funding that is coming to the area, was very insightful. Her ideas were fantastic and I will be looking to implement them this year.
