Chancellor announces additional £1 billion of support available for businesses

The Chancellor, Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP, has announced an additional £1 billion of support will be available for businesses who have been impacted by the Omicron variant.
This support includes:
- A one-off grant of up to £6k per premises for businesses in the hospitality and leisure sectors in England;
- A further £100 million of discretionary funding will be made available for local authorities to support other businesses;
- Reintroduction of the Statutory Sick Pay rebate scheme, meaning Government will cover the cost of Statutory Sick Pay for COVID-related absences for small and medium-sized employers across the UK for up to two weeks;
- £30 million of further funding will be made available through the Culture Recovery Fund.
