Armed Forces Community to host Cumbria Employer Recognition Scheme workshop

The North West Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) and Cumbria County Council will be hosting the Cumbria Employer Recognition Scheme workshop, with close support from Cumbria LEP.

The Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) is open to all organisations in recognition of their support for the Armed Forces Community as well as the ex-service and reservist workforce. The ERS is designed primarily to recognise private sector support although public sector organisations such as local authorities, NHS trusts, are also eligible. More information on the Scheme, and the various awards can be accessed using the link below:-

In order to publicise the Employer Recognition Scheme and encourage employers to sign up to the scheme, the workshop will provide information sessions for organisations at all levels, including those which are interested in signing up to the Bronze Award. There will be time allocated during the event for organisations to register for Bronze, and register their interest for Silver. You will be asked as part of the registration process to register your organisation’s current involvement with the ERS. This is designed for us to tailor the event to your needs.

The event will take place on Tuesday 25 February 2020, 10am-3pm, Rheged, Penrith, CA11 0DQ. The Lord Lieutenant and Jo Lappin (Chief Executive, LEP) will be in attendance, as well as local authority Member and Officer Armed Forces Champions.

We would welcome your attendance. If you are able to attend, please could you register at the following link. Hani Cox, Cumbria County Council, will distribute the agenda ahead of the session, and this will provide more information on the bespoke workshops.
