Job Opening: Careers and Enterprise Coordinator

Cumbria LEP (CLEP) is looking to appoint two exceptional individuals to help us drive Cumbria’s Career Strategy forward. The Careers and Enterprise Coordinator (CEC) sits at the heart of the Careers Hub to help schools and colleges improve their careers and enterprise programmes and to engage with the world of work.

Working closely with the Careers Hub Manager, you will effectively act as a partnership manager between schools/colleges and local businesses.

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Passionate about helping every young person find their best next step;
  • Suitably qualified and experienced;
  • Committed to delivering a high quality service, which meets the needs of Cumbria’s business and education community; and
  • Strong and credible ambassadors for CLEP.
Job Title: Careers and Enterprise Coordinator
Salary: £30,000 per annum with contributory pension scheme
Location: Cumbria
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Terms: The roles are currently fixed-term contracts until 31st August 2023, with an ambition to extend as part of the Government's wider careers strategy in the longer term.

Role Summary

Cumbria Careers Hub is a network of employers, schools, colleges and other stakeholders who are interested in supporting young people to successfully progress into the world of work. It is a national scheme that is disseminated from the Department for Education via the Careers and Enterprise Company. In Cumbria, the Careers Hub is hosted by the Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership.

The role is based around four main aims:

  • Supporting Careers Leaders and Employers, individually and in groups.
  • Building networks and facilitating conversations and initiatives about careers.
  • Being a local expert on the Gatsby Benchmarks.
  • Being an ambassador for the careers landscape and skills agenda across Cumbria

You will need to understand the skills agenda for the region and recent changes to the careers education landscape in England. You will also need to bring enthusiasm and energy to the role, coupled with a desire to ensure that all young people find their best next step.

The roles are currently fixed-term contracts until 31st August 2023, with an ambition to extend as part of the Government's wider careers strategy in the longer term.
