Strategies and Plans

The Local Industrial Strategy (LIS) outlines Cumbria’s vision to make Cumbria “The place to live, work, visit and invest sustainably – where exceptional industry and innovation meets a breathtakingly beautiful and productive landscape.” It is based on twin platforms increased productivity and inclusive growth and is structured around government’s five drivers of productivity – ideas and innovation, people, infrastructure, business environment and places. The LIS identifies how Cumbria’s opportunities will be maximised and challenges addressed.

The LIS is now in the co-production phase with government and over the coming months will be further refined prior to being finalised and published.
