We are looking for ambitious, high-performing people to join us to take the organisation to the next level.

We are strengthening our team with the creation of five exciting new permanent job roles, plus one fixed term appointment. These jobs provide the opportunity to be a part of a growing, ambitious and effective organisation responsible for working with businesses and our partners to deliver growth, productivity and prosperity for Cumbria.

Head of Business and Innovation – click here for job specification
With significant leadership experience, the post holder will be responsible for leading, developing and managing the implementation of all aspects of Ideas and Innovation and Business Environment programmes of Cumbria’s Local Industrial Strategy.

Head of Skills – click here for job specification
Responsible for leading, developing and managing the implementation of all aspects of the ‘People and Skills’ work programme of Cumbria’s Local Industrial Strategy, including education, skills, employment and worklessness.

Head of Secretariat – click here for job specification
Responsible for providing the secretariat function to CLEP’s governance structure, ensuring that all bodies within the structure receive effective servicing with all agenda, papers and minutes being provided to required timescales and quality standards.

Media and Communications Officer – click here for job specification
For candidates seeking a move on to the next career level in a high profile environment, the post holder will lead on promoting CLEP activities, developing effective media relations, social media platforms, high quality editorial content and other media activity.

PA/Office Manager – click here for job specification
The post holder will be responsible for providing an effective PA support service to the Chief Executive and Chair of CLEP, managing diaries, organising meetings and preparing communications, as well as managing the office, ensuring systems and processes are in place and maintained and providing admin support to the wider team.

In addition, the newly formed Cumbria Careers Hub is working with the Careers and Enterprise Company to recruit an Enterprise Co-ordinator in a temporary role until August 2020:

The post holder will play a pivotal role in helping local schools and colleges to improve careers and enterprise activities to motivate, inspire and support young people in making more informed choices about their future.

Cumbria LEP Chief Executive Jo Lappin says: “These are exciting new roles for people with a passion for Cumbria’s economic growth, productivity and prosperity. The roles offer the chance to be part of a growing, ambitious and effective organisation responsible for working with businesses and our partners to deliver the ambitions outlined within our Local Industrial Strategy.

“CLEP has changed significantly over the past nine months, with a growing reputation locally and nationally. We are now in a position to extend our team and further strengthen our delivery capability. We are looking for ambitious, high-performing people to join us in taking CLEP to the next level.”
