Cumbria LEP AGM to take place next month

Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership, the county’s strategic economic body, is holding its open Annual General Meeting next month.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM), a public event which will be of particular interest to Cumbrian businesses, public, voluntary and community sector partners, is to be held on Friday 27 September 2019 at Cumbria LEP’s Conference & Business Centre, Redhills, Penrith.

The event comes as discussions continue with Government on Cumbria’s Local Industrial Strategy, developed in consultation with businesses and partners, which maps out the county’s economic priorities through to the 2030s.

The event will open from 1:30pm with a networking lunch, with the formal AGM commencing at 2:00pm and closing at 4:00pm.

Cumbria LEP Chair, Lord Inglewood, says: “We warmly invite businesses, public, voluntary and community sector partners to attend the AGM, and indeed anyone who wants to know more about what we do and our future plans to boost Cumbria’s economy.

“It’s an opportunity for attendees to hear from the Board and the leadership team about our activities and achievements in the last 12 months, including an update on the development of the Local Industrial Strategy, the work of our Strategy Groups and Sector Panels and to hear about how we have developed Cumbria LEP and our team.

“There will also be plenty of opportunity to discuss future plans to work with our partners to take forward economic growth, productivity and prosperity for our businesses, people and communities in Cumbria, as well as a question and answer session offering the chance to ask questions of the Board”.
