4. Net Zero

Net zero is a key focus for UK Government and businesses of all sizes have a key role to play in contributing in cutting carbon emissions and protecting the planet. How are your plans progressing?

    • Greening Eden is a programme from Eden District Council designed to support local businesses to reduce their carbon emissions. Businesses will undertake an environmental assessment and receive expert advice on how to reduce emissions, with the potential to access up to £10k of match grant funding towards capital investments that deliver significant carbon reductions.

    • Low Carbon Barrow examines issue around sustainability, biodiversity, climate change and low carbon initiatives in Barrow-in-Furness. The programme is open to applications from small and medium sized businesses, charities and constituted community groups to improve their energy efficiency and environmental performance. Grants of up to £10k are available to eligible businesses.

    • Our Journey to Net Zero Programme will be starting in a few weeks. If you’re a small or medium sized business at an early stage on the path to net zero emissions, you’d be more than welcome to register your interest. The programme, delivered over six weeks, will guide you through what net zero means for your business and how to prioritise action. You will receive guided support to help to build a strategic plan to cut your carbon footprint, reduce costs, minimise risk and capitalise on the many opportunities awaiting you in the net zero world. 5. Staffing & recruitment
