After what has been one of the most challenging years in living memory, Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (CLEP) is encouraging local businesses to get ready for 2021 by having a free financial planning or expert legal advice session.
CLEP has expert accountancy and legal support ready to provide businesses with a free support session to help them take their business forward in 2021. The programme will provide up to three hours of free advice and support to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), which is specifically targeted to the needs of the individual business.
The specialist support can offer bespoke guidance on a wide range of issues, which might include:

- Marketing and Sales
- Pricing and Product/Service Validation
- Business Operations, including Manufacturing and Logistics
- Leadership and Management
- Succession Planning
- Growth, Productivity & Competitiveness
- Skills Training
- Trading Internationally
- General Business Legislation such as Environmental, GDPR etc.
- Knowledge of the Wider Business Environment, Trends
- Forthcoming Legislation
CLEP is providing this service hand-in-hand with local professional service firms and other advisory organisations, to ensure that the service really does meet the need of the individual business.
Professional service organisations signed up include Dodd and Co, CWH Accountants and Progression Solicitors, who will work alongside CLEP to deliver the support.
CLEP Project Manager Helen Atherton said: “This has been an incredibly challenging year for businesses and if you do not have your own financial or legal advisers or a senior leadership team to talk through issues with, we can help.
“Our business experts will provide your business with up to three hours of advice on the specific issues that you are facing.
“The programme runs until 31 March 2021 and SMEs can access up to three hours of support, which can be delivered in a number of ways.
“Businesses will be able to benefit from the programmes at no cost, which means that demand is high and I would therefore encourage businesses to apply as soon as possible.”
