Capital Development Fund

The Capital Development Fund is designed to support the costs of development activity to bring forward key projects that align with the aims of the Cumbria Local Industrial Strategy.

CLEP recognises that in order to develop large or complex projects beyond the Strategic Outline Business Case stage, considerable development activity is required, often requiring specialist professional support that can be prohibitive. The Fund seeks to reduce the risks associated with this and to promote the development of a strong pipeline of projects to support economic growth throughout Cumbria.

The Fund provides a repayable grant facility, with funding repaid once the final wider project is approved.

Applications are welcome from any organisation with a minimum request of £20,000 and a maximum request of £50,000 with the CLEP contribution no more than 50% of the total project costs.

Where State Aid may apply, the intention is to award the funding under De Minimis.

The Capital Development Fund Guidance and Application Form can be found here.
